Pismo Sand Dunes
The Pismo dunes, officially the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area, while certainly not as expansive as the world’s full-size deserts, the Pismo dunes are rare oddity and a fun adventure. Bring your own sand toys or rent from a company conveniently located at the dunes.
The central coast offers some of the most scenic horseback riding trails in California. Saddle up and explore SLO county from the back of a horse. Horseback riding is a unique way to experience the splendor of the area whether you’re looking to ride on the beach, on hillside trails or through ranches.

Montaña De Oro
This park features rugged cliffs, secluded sandy beaches, coastal plains, streams, canyons, and hills, including 1,347-foot Valencia Peak. Naturalists and backpackers enjoy the solitude and freedom found along the park's trails. There are also mountain biking and equestrian trails.
